the epistle of paul the apostle
to philemon

The Epistle of Paul to Philemon is a short personal letter where Paul appeals to Philemon to forgive and accept his runaway slave, Onesimus, back not as a slave, but as a beloved brother in Christ. Paul, while imprisoned, encountered Onesimus, who had been converted and become helpful to him. Paul writes to Philemon, acknowledging Onesimus's wrongdoing and urging reconciliation through Christian love and forgiveness. He also offers to repay any financial loss Philemon incurred due to Onesimus.
